Inside Asiedua’s chest: From Adom FM to myjoyonline.com: The untold story

Image
Yes I’m the newbie at Myjoyonline.com. I joined the team this month. Trust me, there is a lot to learn. You have to get better or die trying. After finishing my national service with Adom FM, I was extremely lucky to be considered by Myjoyonline.com. I must confess, it’s a blessing to be able to work in two media units under 2 years at the Multimedia Group Limited. Count your blessings one by one they say. So that’s what you are going to read in this article: counting my blessings starting with 12 months at Adom FM. I miss the Editorial meetings led by Afia Pokua (Vim Lady) and the affable Samuel Dowuona. The discussions here can be intense and rigorous and riddled with laughter too. Colleagues there were always ready to assist me with everything at every time. After the many depressing tales from friends doing their National Service in the public sector, my great hope was to be useful in a private sector organisation. Inside Asiedua’s Chest – My Father Owns It All, Not Me – Part 2

When I read the first part of this article online, I was disappointed in my ‘sister’ for not telling me she was going to share our whole life online. But on a second thought I forgave her because I knew she did it to help others who still think like I used to. I thought of supporting her good course by scripting the second part. She asked as she sensed some kind of fright in my voice. “I’m at Korle Bu. Can you call your parents please”? I replied. “Is ever...

Inside Asiedua’s Chest - My father owns it all, not me (Pt 1)

It was Friday morning; my phone rang for the second time; I was not surprised to see it was her. We’ve been friends for about twelve years. Like me, she is the only child of her parents. Ofeibea is her name but I call her Offy and I love her like a sister. Although we planned to go to the same senior high school, we were posted to different schools.  We told our parents about it and with my daddy’s help, we both got admission into one of the finest senior high schools. We have a lot in common. Apart from sharing the same birthday, we look very much alike. And while our fathers are from the same town in the Eastern Region, our mothers were school mates. Our friendship grew stronger when we entered senior high school. We became more like twins; our choices of things and our thoughts were almost the same every time. We virtually did everything together and oh…excluding what you are thinking. Lol. We chose to read same courses so we ended up in the same class a...
